Function: The side channel blowers are cooled by the external motor fan as well as by the air to be delivered in the side channel. Therefore a safe and proper operation is only possible if the side channel blower is operated below the maximum permissible pressure difference. The use of a safety valve ensures that an adequate amount of air is always available for the cooling of the unit. The safety valves are adjustable and should be set to 90% of the maximum differential pressure of the corresponding side channel blower model.

Function: The side channel blowers are equipped with silencers at the pressure side as well as at the suction side. Corresponding sound pressure levels of the respective models can be found in the corresponding data sheets. Depending on the configuration further measures for sound insulation may be necessary. Our additional silencers can be simply connected in series with the silencers equipped by default. The assembly is possible via the factory-side threaded flanges. Using the additional silencers the sound pressure levels can be reduced by ~ 3dB(A) with the short version and by ~ 5dB(A) with the long version.

Note:
According to standard EN 60204-1 an electric motor with a rated power of more than 0.5 kW has to be protected against overheating. The use of a motor protection switch protects the motor against overload as well as a short circuit.A direct connection without motor protection switch is only possible in accordance with this standard.

Function: According to standard DIN EN 60204-1, motors with a rating of more than 0.5 kW must be protected against unacceptable heating. This applies to the majority of our side channel blowers. A motor protection switch ensures both overload protection and short circuit protection for the cables and lines. If an unacceptable current increase, e.g. by overloading or blocking the motor, the motor protection switch interrupts all active conductors. An overload protector as well as phase loss protection can not be provided by a motor protection switch. For this purpose, further actions must be taken.
