Function: The side channel blowers are cooled by the external motor fan as well as by the air to be delivered in the side channel. Therefore a safe and proper operation is only possible if the side channel blower is operated below the maximum permissible pressure difference. The use of a safety valve ensures that an adequate amount of air is always available for the cooling of the unit. The safety valves are adjustable and should be set to 90% of the maximum differential pressure of the corresponding side channel blower model.

A motor protection switch ensures both overload protection and short circuit protection for the cables and lines. If an unacceptable current increase, e.g. by overloading or blocking the motor, the motor protection switch interrupts all active conductors.
